Kathleen O'Hara graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Textiles & Surface Design. She previously studied Fiber Arts for two years at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). Kathleen attended Scarsdale High School where her talent was recognized, most notably by the selection of one of her lino prints to become a permanent piece in the Neuberger Museum of Art.
Kathleen O'Hara's continues to pursue her passion for textile & surface design, as well as her artistic interests in many other mediums. These include drawing; painting; printmaking; screen printing; dyeing; weaving; spinning; sewing; knitting; quilting; and ceramics.
She also promotes sustainable development in the fashion industry through the use of recycled materials and alternative approaches.
In addition to her formal work experience, Kathleen has benefitted from challenging internships in companies focused on: (i) contemporary womenswear; (ii) luxury knitwear; (iii) hosiery and sock design; and (iv) handspun yarn and textile art. Her software skills include proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Kaledo, NedGraphics; Pointcarre; Product Lifecycle Management (PLM); and Microsoft Office.
